“The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.”
I was born in Orlando, Florida, into a military family, with both my parents originally from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. After 41 years of marriage, they continue to share a journey rooted in love and service to God. Growing up, we moved often, never staying in one place for more than a few years. But in 1995, we settled in Jacksonville, NC, and finally had a place to call home. It was here that my dad’s long-held dream came to life when he was called to lead Emmanuel Baptist Church. Being the daughter of a pastor wasn’t always easy, and I faced challenges for being different.
Everything changed in high school when I attended my first Christian concert and truly felt God’s presence. That moment led me to dedicate my life to Christ, and my dad, as my pastor, baptized me.
Years later, after my husband Jon-Michael and I moved to New Port Richey, FL, we found Bridgeway/Brave Church. It felt like home right away. I joined the worship team and soon felt God calling me to do more. Trusting Him every step of the way, I embraced the journey.
Today, with our three beautiful children—Kevin, Myaizabela, and Abel—and our two playful dogs, Jax and Javi, I’m incredibly blessed to be part of this amazing church family, watching God’s work unfold.
