Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
— Proverbs 3:5-6

I grew up going to church every Sunday—my parents made sure of that. Even as a kid, I helped my mom out in Sunday school, and looking back, I can see that was when God started working in my heart and setting me up for kids’ ministry.

Even though we were at church every week and I had a relationship with the Lord, I didn’t really get how much I needed Him in my everyday life. Jesus was for Sundays—and maybe Wednesdays. I kept going to church and volunteering, but around the time I was 19, something shifted, and I started building a real relationship with Him.

When I met Ricky, I clearly heard God tell me that he would be my husband. It was the first time I had ever felt that sure that God had spoken that to me, and now, 17 years and four kids later, I’m so glad I listened to that quiet voice.

Over the years, I’ve seen God’s faithfulness through some tough times—being newly married and in ministry, going through a miscarriage, dealing with my kids getting sick, and more. Through it all, my faith grew, and my relationship with God gets stronger every day. The more I get to know Him, the more I realize how much I truly need Him.

I’ve volunteered in a lot of different areas at church. In 2022, I came on staff part-time as the Kids Director. I’ve always had a heart for kids, and it’s so exciting to be a part of what God is doing in their lives at Brave. I’m just so thankful to be part of it all!
